This is a 2-hour workshop exploring the relationship with meter and rhythm in free verse poetry. MFA graduate, lawyer, and House of Amal Roommate member, Oliver Khan will bring his formal knowledge with traditional English poetry and the original marker to determine a poem’s success: the quality of the meter and rhythm in each line. Exploring tools like iambic pentameter, the metrical foot, and sound, you will walk away from this workshop with another dimension of understanding to poetry that is especially useful in its recitation and performance.
